acetylsalicylic acid

acetylsalicylic acid [ORG CHEM]CH3COOC6H4COOH A white, crystalline, weakly acidic
substance, with melting point 137 C; slightly soluble in water; used medicinally as
an antipyretic. Also known by trade name aspirin.
